Erin McGinty
Senior Biologist/Project Manager

 

Erin McGinty has conducted habitat assessment and preconstruction wildlife surveys, including reconnaissance and focused-level surveys for special-status wildlife species. She is proficient in following standard agency protocols, including protocol surveys for the California red-legged frog and foothill yellow-legged frog. Ms. McGinty has also conducted bat surveys, employing acoustic sampling, and examination of trees and structures. Ms. McGinty has performed construction inspection and biological monitoring services as well as vegetation restoration and post-construction vegetation monitoring. She has also rehabilitated common and endangered avian species, including the yellow-billed cuckoo.

Ms. McGinty possesses a wide range of technical writing and graphical experience, including production of biological assessments, CEQA documents and biological sections of EIRs. Ms. McGinty's work on a number of large and small-scale projects in California has given her a range of experience with regional wildlife resources. In the Bay-Delta and Central Coast regions she has worked on projects including, endangered plant monitoring for the County of Santa Cruz Planning Department/Granite Rock, Inc; habitat assessments, surveys, and biological monitoring for Santa Cruz and Monterey County Departments of Planning and Public Works projects; the San Jose Water Company/West Valley Construction in Santa Clara County; and currently for the University of California, Santa Cruz Environmental Assessment Group. In addition, Ms. McGinty participated in a California red-legged frog census and bullfrog eradication project for California Department of Fish and Game at Elkhorn Slough Preserve, Monterey County. These projects have provided Ms. McGinty with particular experience in surveying and monitoring for sensitive amphibians and reptiles including the California red-legged frog, the foothill yellow-legged frog and the southwestern pond turtle, as well as sensitive raptor species.
